Screening program for CKDu

A screening programme for CKDu was conducted for 400 children in the village Ginnoruwa which is known as a CKDu hotspot. Final year students took part in this program to screen the participants using urine dip stick, BP measurement, USS and measurement of serum creatinine, under the guidance of Consultants and Senior Registrars of the Professorial Paediatric Unit of Teaching Hospital Peradeniya.
This project was a joint effort of SLCP and CERTKID of University of Peradeniya. Project was funded by the Adelaide Doctors Association Australia.
An art exhibition was held for school children and a rain water harvesting system was donated to the pre-school children for drinking purposes
